COACHING ACADEMY
HIGHER EDUCATION
CORE SKILLS
As a leader in Higher Education, you are used to being the person with all the answers. You are an expert in your respective field, after all. But today’s Higher Education leaders are also navigating declining resources, overwhelmed staff, and shifting student demands. You don’t always have time to be the expert problem solver. Core Skills for Coaching: Higher Education teaches Higher Education leaders like you how to use coaching skills to expand your leadership skillset and impact.
THE
“LEADER AS A COACH”
DIFFERENCE
When Higher Education leaders develop and implement coaching skills such as mindfulness, listening, and curiosity, they elevate the engagement and performance of their team members. Participants transition from the leader with all the answers to the leader who empowers others to find the answers. This creates more trusting relationships, higher levels of innovation and creativity, improved performance, and better bench strength within their team.
I have been through multiple leadership and coaching programs in my career. The Spiro model is the first one that prepared me to coach upon completion of the program. Through sound research, observational practice, and personal care, the Spiro model empowered me in my life and helped me positively impact the lives of others.
